Just over a year ago, Jane Davidson and Pat Sloane let loose a genius plan – to host an online, worldwide quilt-along, where the finished product was a mystery – to be released one block at a time. So began the Splendid Sampler.
Those who frequent our little patchwork shop would know Marcelle created not ONE but TWO of these quilts (with possibly a third on it’s way!?), and encouraged everyone she knew to get on board. Today, we’re sharing her finished efforts with you.
This one is made up from various Dashwood Studio fabrics, and was made with a playful spirit to be gifted to a child.
This one was made with a modern, funky feel. The fabric is Mon Ami by Basic Gray for Moda. Check out the beautiful prairie points!
The thing I love most about these quilts is that they clearly show how one pattern can produce two quilts with totally different and unique personalities! Check out each of these blocks two ways.
Looks like fun, right!? Well, it’s not too late to join in. The patterns are no longer available online, but VERY soon you will be able to buy the book! You can check out the website here, the publishers website here (they’re hosting a giveaway this week!), and the Facebook group here (where you can see even more inspiration!).
We have the Mon Ami version of this quilt hanging up in the shop, so come in and check it out!
